Don't use this blog enough, here is where I am.

I don't use this blog enough. So here is a quick update.
I am still unemployed but I hope for that to change this
week.

I have also decided to do a webcomic based on my series
Juda Fist: 7 Deaths of the Yobi, to be entitled, Juda Fist: Garden
of War.

I just got back from the Bay Area and I am more than recharged
and ready to put foot to ass.

So watch out now.

Starting over in comics.

Hey
I promised to use the blog as a kind of diary and production document.
So here is the first real post wiht that in mind.

I am just now drawing the first page of what could be my career for the rest
of my life. The story is called Juda Fist:7 Deaths of the Yobi.

I gotta admit I am scared shitless. I am alittle tired, so I am not gonna talk
much today about the page. I am just posting where I am so far.

Keeping my eyes on the prize.

Ya know.
I been doing comics( or attempting to do comics) for alot of years.
I have always been frustrated by my lack of productivity in the
sequential arena. I have been almost petrified of not having my work
be perfect.

This is bad in that its stiffled me, but good in that I am very critical of my
own work.

Recently though, it seems that something has changed in my thinking.
I don't feel like an outsider in terms of being an artist like I used too.
I think I am finally starting to come into my own.

Thank God LOL.

So in keeping with my "coming out party" I have posted a festive image.
Something I WOULDN'T normally touch.

My friend Paula says is "VERY CUTE". LOL

Been a while but I won't keep up the habit

Hey yo
It's been along time, I shouldn't have left ya....all hip hop heads know the rest.

Anyhow, Sorry I haven't kept up with my Blog. Just been really busy.
Finally starting to work on the Juda Fist Pages.

Should be working on them tonight, but I am tired as hell from the fucking Chrysler Job.
Actually am gonna do somework on backgrounds before I knock out for the night.

The major things in my life revolve mostly around 3D, yup I thaught myself 3D Studio Max. I learned some Maya for a project I was doing earlier which gave me a slight intro to Max.

I found some books online and there I was, learning MAX.

I am doing some small projects right now, but my comic is priority for now.

I also am starting to explore my painting skills alot more too, nothing completed yet but I am practicing hard. My buddy Tammy is an awesome painter and she has been helping me to learn alot.

Oh yeah back to 3D, I am also in the process of learning Z BRUSH, and I gotta tell ya that software is AMAZING. I allows me to model things way faster than just pulling points in Max.

I hope to put all this stuff together to help me with my comic.

Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and the text scandal

I was reading the Detroit Free Press today, with Kwame on the frontpage and I just start thinking about how STUPID some people are. First off, why the HELL are you going to use a text pager given to you as a public servant to text someone concerning personal business, let alone some one who is an employee of yours.

Also why are you going to send ANYTHING that can potentially incriminate you over, what amounts to public property?

I don't understand this guy, his Chief of staff who he is sleeping with, the damn Judge they texted or the future police chief that is now involved in all this.

Ashamed

Learning is great!!!

Allow me to reintroduce myself my name is.... LOL.

Seriously though ,its been a while since I last posted. In that expanse of time I have learned the fundamentals of flash animation and 3d animation using Maya and 3d studio max. I have become a better digital painter and I have also become a more confident comic book penciller.

As you can see I have posted a few iworks in progress I have been using as practice. What do you guys think. I hope ya dig um.

All of this in a year. I think I am getting the hang of living life to the fullest. I don't have a lot of regrets.

I find myself all the way for Barack Obama these days, as this cat represents positive change in a way I haven't seen in my lifetime. My Mom harkens Obama to the excitement felt during her youth as it related to JFK.

I can't wait to see what the future holds both politically and artistically.

Been a while since I posted, here is an update

Been I while since I posted. Alot has happened over the last five months. First off 2 of my biggest mentors, Octavia Butler and Gordon Parks have both passed away. Octavia Butler was one of the most prolific writers of any cultural background in modern science fiction with Parable of the Sower and the Earthseed Series being some of her most enduring works. Gordon Parks paved the way as a dynamic photo journalist and a ground breaking director and cinematographer in the 70s, with movies like the Learning Tree and Shaft. I will miss them both and try my damnest to honor their memories with good, strong and though provoking work.

Also, I have been given the opportunity of a life time. Another of my mentors, Arvell Jones of Marvel Comics fame has openned some doors for me in the animation arena. I can't say much, but I have been working on some pitches that may see the light of day. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

I have also been travelling alot. In the last five months I have been to Atlanta twice and Pheonix. I needed it too, if for no other reason than to remind me that life doesn't start or end in Detroit. I feel as if I have reconnected to the rest of the world again in some way.

Keep Yall Posted.
